Real World Skills: Coming February '26

Welcome to BRIDGE — Building Readiness, Independence & Growth for Everyday Life

We’re so excited to introduce BRIDGE, a brand-new program designed to help neurodivergent young adults strengthen their independence, build confidence, and learn the real-life skills that school doesn’t always cover.

When: February 2026
Where: Virginia Wesleyan University

The 16-week series covers essential life topics like:

  • Executive functioning
  • Task planning,
  • Personal finances
  • Healthcare
  • Housing
  • Transportation
  • and more!

Through hands-on activities and practical lessons, you’ll discover how to manage daily responsibilities, make informed decisions, and prepare for adulthood with confidence.

Our workshops are designed for maximum support:

  • Small groups
  • One-to-one help
  • Expert leaders who understand that how we learn is as unique as each one of us

This course will empower neurodivergent young adults with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive, whether at home, at work, or in the community, by providing supportive guidance, peer connection, and real-world learning experiences.

16-Week BRIDGE Program Summary

The READY workshop is a hands-on 16-week program designed to empower individuals with the skills and confidence needed for independent living for young adults. We're teaching real-world life skills for adulthood — the ones not covered in school. We are here to walk our participants through the transactions and paperwork they need to gain independence. We'll tackle things like personal finances, budgeting and the ins and outs of tasks such as paying bills. We'll talk through what it means to meal plan, eat healthy and grocery shop. Need confidence to talk with a healthcare provider? A lesson on how to open a bank account? These are things we can help with!

Take the next step toward independence! Early registration is happening now! Email info@cayaproject.org to learn more or reserve your spot. The cost is $400 and scholarships are available!
